Episode 5 - All's well that ends... bad?

With the mayor now free, we decided to infiltrate the mines, so that the mayor could talk with his fellow villagers, and persuade them to fight for their freedom. We disguised as Fire Nation inspectors, and we managed to get inside the mines. The mayor succeeded in his task, and in a few hours the mines were ours!

Using the mines as a stronghold, we gathered as many men as possible, and faced the remaining Fire Nation's soldiers on the streets. Understanding they were outnumbered, they left the village without too much of a fuss. We stayed a little longer to help shore up the defenses, but then it was time to leave for our final destination.

A couple more days of travel, and we arrived at the outpost where we met with our contact. We delivered the plans, and general Onomu, but to our great surprise the general was marked for execution! We couldn't allow that, so we convinced the Earth Nation's representative to spare her. He agreed, but only to put her into custody in prison. At least she will live.

Episode 4 - Fight the Power

We got out of the tunnels, and we were once again on the road to Ba-Sing-Se. We arrived at a small mining community, the town of Lao-xan. The people of the town were not having a good time, since they had been sort of enslaved by a small contingent of soldiers from the Fire Nation. Their mayor, Chi-to, had been imprisoned in a stockade by General Shen, the leader of the Fire Nation's soldiers.

We were discussing the best way to free the mayor, when Yama Ya recognized an old enemy of his, a man called Xiaobo. This guy was actually a Fire Nation collaborator, which greatly angered Yama Ya. A fight was unavoidable!

We fought Xiaobo and a couple of his Fire Nation friends, and we knocked them out. We also took advantage of the confusion to free the mayor, and run away with him. All in all, I would say it was a productive day!

Episode 3 - Down the Hole

We travelled through the desert for a few days, but we soon realized it was better to avoid the open air, in order not to risk being spotted by some Fire Nation patrol. So we decided to go underground, through secret tunnels that brought us to the rebel town of Xiadi, hidden deep below the earth.

Xiadi was a pretty boring town, with not much to see, except of course it was a whole town built underground! We tried to not attract too much attention, so we just booked a place to sleep for the night, and didn't make any friends (or enemies).

We did speak with Aro, a nice fellow that wanted to introduce us to Yan, which I suppose was a sort of military leader in town. But we kindly refused, since keeping Onomu safe and hidden was still our first priority.

The day after we left town, but in the tunnels we spotted the Armadillo Bears coming our way! With some careful earth-bending, we created an alcove on the side of the tunnel, where Onomu could hide. Then we convinced the AB's to just keep going on their way.

Out of the tunnels and back in the open air, Flint tried to earn Onomu's trust, but she asked for a token of his trust first: she wanted the war plans we had taken from her to be returned to her. The whole party was against this, and while we were pondering on the matter, Oishi decided to (not so) stealthily steal the plans from Flint.

I guess we'll have some discussing to do now.

Episode 2 - Roughing the Rhinos Up

After a stroll in the desert, we reached the So Bai Oasis. Not a big place, maybe 50 inhabitants all together, but a pleasant place to spend a night or two. We got some food at the local tavern, where we also met magistrate Ba.

There wasn't much entertainment to be had, so we got a couple of rooms gently offered by the townsfolk, and we settle for the night. We were awoken by some commotion, and wouldn't you know, the Rough Rhinos had just arrived in town! Looking for us...

We did what Heroes do, we faced them on the streets and taught them a lesson, yes we did. They went running away with their fiery tails between their legs. Alas, the local militia was not so happy with the disturbance, so they kindly asked us to leave the Oasis.

And back on the road we went!

Episode 1 - The Deserted Deserter

It was not completely clear to me how I ended up in prison, but there I was, together with new and old friends. Luckily our stay in the local prison did not last long, as a man by the name of Long Feng came to us to offer us a job. The reward for the job was of course our freedom, so we promptly accepted.

Our task was to travel to the village of Haspen, and pick up a woman by the name of Onomu, a general of the Fire Nation who was willing to defect. We met her just outside of the village, but apparently we were not the only ones looking for her. The Armadillo Bears, a band of Earth Kingdom rebels, were also on the hunt for her. A short talk with our big friend Yama Ya dissuaded them from pressing the matter further, and we went on our way.

During the travel we got a chance to better understand Onomu's motives. The woman is still kind of a mystery, since she sounds still loyal to the Fire Nation as an idea, but not to its leaders.

We stopped at the village of West Heyatu, and we decided to rest at the Steeping Phoenix tea-room, managed by the talkative Haino Wu. When we arrived we noticed a band of Fire Nation soldiers pushing all the clients out of the tea-room. We found out that Wu had been "patriotically" overcharging the soldiers, and they were out to get some payback.

With a ready smile and some strong beverages, we persuaded the soldier to allow the tea-room to accept guests again, and we even had some fun at the soldiers' expenses. Alas, I think that they were not completely unaware of our mocking ways, and by the end of the evening, we had to leave with the promise of never being back again. Well, that wasn't too bad, since the day after we left the village, looking forward to our next stop: the So Bai oasis.

Flint

The Icon

Flint was born in the Fire Nation during the early years of the 100-year war. His parents were both skilled fire benders and were part of the Fire Nation military. Growing up, Flint was trained in fire bending from a young age, and he quickly showed exceptional talent and skill.

As he grew older, Flint became increasingly disillusioned with the Fire Nation's aggression and imperialistic goals. He was repulsed by the destruction and suffering caused by the war, and he began to question the morality of the Fire Nation's actions.

Despite his misgivings, Flint remained loyal to the Fire Nation and continued to serve in the military. However, during a battle with the Earth Nation, Flint's unit was ambushed and he was separated from his comrades.

Lost and alone in enemy territory, Flint was forced to rely on his wits and his fire bending skills to survive. He quickly discovered that the Earth Nation was not the savage, primitive nation he had been led to believe it was. Instead, he encountered kind and compassionate people who were struggling to survive in the face of Fire Nation aggression.
